Renee Edgar
Renee is a therapeutically trained optometrist with a special interest in sports vision, neuro-optometric rehabilitation (post-concussion), ocular pathology and multifocal contact lenses. Renee has also had experience moonlighting at the Wellington Public Hospital Eye Department Glaucoma practice, where she worked in a multidisciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.
Graduating from the University of Auckland in 2003, Renee first worked in Taupo, which has plenty of interesting eye diseases and management of cases with ophthalmologists. A very challenging first job inspired her interest in pathology and co-management.
A 3-year hiatus from optometry saw Renee pack her backpack for some interesting travel experiences where she worked as a tour manager for Contiki Holidays throughout Europe. Feel free to ask her for hints about where to go.
Settling back into New Zealand life, Renee joined McClellan Grimmer Edgar in 2010, becoming a partner in 2013.

Nouzar Irani
Nouzar is a therapeutically qualified optometrist with a passion for all aspects of eye care, including ocular pathology, binocular vision, contact lenses, and paediatrics.
He has a special interest in myopia control, orthokeratology and speciality contact lens fittings.
He takes a highly personalised approach, building strong connections with his patients and providing advice and tailored solutions to meet their unique needs.
Since graduating from the University of Auckland in 2015, Nouzar has gained extensive experience in both private and corporate practices across New Zealand and Australia. Most recently, he has combined his love for travel with locum work in regional Australia, delivering eye care to diverse communities.
Outside of work, he is a passionate supporter of New Zealand sports, enjoys exploring new cultures, and thrives on outdoor adventures—whether hiking up a mountain or perfecting (or shanking) his golf swing.
Originally from Auckland, Nouzar is excited to settle in Wellington, join the McClellan Grimmer Edgar practice family, and embark on his next big adventure—parenthood.

Jaishree Patel
Jaishree is a therapeutically qualified optometrist and recent graduate of the University of Auckland. Before pursuing optometry, she completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Otago, where she developed a strong interest in cancer pathology. Driven by her passion for helping people, Jaishree found her calling in optometry and enjoys all aspects of the profession, with particular interests in paediatric optometry, binocular vision, and ocular pathology.
After eight years of studying away from home, returning to the region she grew up in felt like the right step. Jaishree is excited to give back to her community and values educating patients about their eye health, believing that long-term care is built on understanding, kindness, and meaningful connections.
Outside of the practice, you’ll often find Jaishree on the hockey field, at the gym, or in the kitchen experimenting with new flavours. She enjoys learning about different cultures and brings that same curiosity into both her cooking and patient care.
Jaishree is delighted to join the McClellan Grimmer Edgar family and is excited to begin this next chapter.
Yvanni
Yvanni is our practice manager and started with us in 2022. Prior to this, she was managing stores for 15 years with a large corporate optical company.
She is passionate about growing and developing people as well as the business. A keen eye for fashion, she loves to carefully select the frames and sunglasses you see on display in the practice.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her whanau and friends.
Lani
Lani is our senior receptionist and started with us in 2019. Prior to this, she worked for a large corporate optical company.
She especially enjoys helping patients with the selection of frames.
During her time with us, she finished her BA in Psychology.
Jay
Jay worked in customer service/retail for a number of years prior to her starting with McClellan Grimmer Edgar in 2023.
You'll find her helping to repair and adjust customers' frames as well as doing administration on the reception desk.
Maddy
Maddy started with us in 2026; she has come from working primarily in retail management and a few years of optics. She enjoys the complexities of the dispensing process and seeing the difference clear vision makes.
Outside of work she's either at the gym, with friends, or deep in a book.
